Inspired by the beauty and wildlife of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Susan Cannon creates kiln-formed glass artwork that captures the region's ever-changing landscapes and moods. Working with glass for more than twenty years, she builds each piece in layers, combining color, texture, glass enamels, powders, and silver foil to create remarkable depth and luminosity.

Mountain vistas and black bears are recurring themes in her work, where representational imagery blends with abstract elements through techniques such as sgraffito and layered glass construction. Susan also creates abstract wall and functional art, allowing each piece to evolve intuitively through shape, color, and composition.

Rooted in a deep connection to nature, Susan's work invites viewers to experience the serenity, wonder, and quiet beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains through the expressive possibilities of glass.
