Coon Dog Day – A Beloved Saluda Tradition

Coon Dog Day is a cherished summer tradition in Saluda, North Carolina, bringing together locals and visitors for a full day of fun, community, and canine celebration. The festivities begin with a spirited 5K Fun Run, followed by a bustling vendor market offering local crafts, food, and more. A lively parade marches through downtown, featuring colorful floats, firetrucks, and, of course, plenty of dogs.

Dog lovers won’t want to miss the “Every Dog’s a Star” show—a heartwarming contest celebrating dogs of all breeds—and the prestigious AKC Registered Coon Hound Dog Show, where top hounds strut their stuff. The excitement continues with a firefighter agility contest, live music throughout the day, and dancing that lasts well into the evening.

As the sun sets, the town comes alive with square dancing under the stars—a perfect ending to a day steeped in small-town charm, community pride, and Southern tradition.

Soft Opening – May 17th During the Saluda Arts Festival

We are excited to invite you to our soft opening on May 17th, coinciding with the vibrant Saluda Arts Festival! From 11 AM to 5 PM, we welcome you to stop in, explore our collection, and meet the people behind the gallery. As a special highlight, we will be showcasing the acrylic paintings of Hannah Seng, whose dynamic and expressive work captures the beauty and spirit of the region.

To make your visit even more enjoyable, we will be offering light refreshments throughout the day. Look for our sandwich board outside the gallery, where we’ll have a warm welcome message and a featured artist announcement to guide you in.
