Susan Cannon
Inspired by the beauty and wildlife of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Susan Cannon creates kiln-formed glass artwork that captures the region’s ever-changing moods and landscapes. Working with glass for more than twenty years, she builds images in layers, incorporating color, texture, glass enamels, powders, and silver foil to create depth and visual richness.
Her work often explores mountain vistas and black bears, blending representational and abstract elements through techniques such as sgraffito and layered glass construction. She also creates abstract functional and wall art, allowing shape, color, and composition to evolve intuitively throughout the creative process. Guided by a deep connection to nature and a belief in creative discovery, her work reflects both the serenity and wonder of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
