A smiling woman with short dark hair, wearing a white shirt and a yellow apron, is sitting at a pottery wheel with clay on her hands. Behind her are shelves with ceramic mugs. She appears to be working on a pottery project in a studio.

Renata Copeland

Born and raised in Brazil, Renata Copeland brings the bold colors and rich culture of her heritage into her functional and sculptural ceramic work. She holds a degree in Management in Gastronomy from Universidade Potiguar do Rio Grande do Norte and discovered her love for clay after moving to Edgefield, SC in 2009.

Renata studied ceramics at Piedmont Technical College, where she also taught wheel throwing and hand-building techniques. After a long break due to a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, she returned to clay with renewed passion and creativity.

Now based in Greenville, SC, Renata homeschools her two children and creates from her home studio, often working side-by-side with her kids. Her work is a joyful blend of family, healing, and artistic expression. She continues to explore bold surface designs, bringing energy and emotion to every piece.
